Job summary

Coloma Community Schools is seeking a part-time Band Assistant to support the band director and students in grades 5–12. The role focuses on rehearsal preparation, instrument setup, and administrative tasks to help run the school's band program smoothly.

The position requires a high school diploma, experience with musical instruments, and the ability to manage time effectively while lifting equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience playing a musical instrument, preferably in a school band setting.
• Ability to work well with students and staff.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• 15 hours per week during school hours minimum.
• Ability to lift and move equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the band director in preparing for rehearsals and performances.
• Help students with instrument setup and maintenance.
• Organize and distribute sheet music and materials.
• Attend rehearsals and performances to support director and students.
• Set up and teardown of equipment for rehearsals and performances.
• Assist with small group and one-on-one practice.
• Support fundraising and administrative tasks for the band program.
