Job summary

WindBorne Systems is seeking a part-time balloon launch operator in Corpus Christi, TX to support our weather forecasting mission. You will launch high-altitude balloons, operate equipment, and maintain safety during outdoor shifts, including weekends and some evenings.

Join a small, collaborative team to meet weekly launch targets, perform checks, and manage inventory. Training provided; prior balloon experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Launch high-altitude weather balloons following established safety and operational procedures
• Meet weekly launch targets to support data collection and forecasting goals
• Set up and break down launch sites, ensure equipment is configured and secured
• Manage and maintain inventory of balloon supplies, compressed gas cylinders, and related equipment
• Perform routine equipment checks and flag maintenance or safety concerns
• Adapt to varying weather conditions during operations
