Job summary

The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a part-time Bakery Assistant under Federal Work Study. You will assist the baker with daily production, including cookies, breads, donuts, muffins and desserts, with on-site duties and strict food safety.

This non-benefited student position requires the ability to stand 3-4 hours, follow instructions, work independently or with others, and meet sanitation standards; 10 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for 3-4 hours.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen.
• Compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements including taking out jewelry and wearing a hairnet.

Responsibilities

• Will assist baker with daily production.
• Help with cookie, bread and donuts, muffin and dessert production.
• Pan up product, scale recipes and set-up carts for next day.
• Maintain sanitation standards;
• Help maintain storeroom
• Follows proper handling and storage procedures in the serving and holding of food.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment correctly
• Washes dishes
• Other duties as assigned
