Hy-Vee's Des Moines bakery is seeking a creative Bakery Cake Designer to decorate cakes for birthdays, weddings, and everyday treats. You will lead part-time teammates and work closely with the bakery team to keep production flowing and ensure on-site cake setup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided by Hy-Vee.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take cake orders at the bakery counter.
• Decorate bakery items and keep up with current cake design trends.
• Develop daily bakery orders for bakers and ensure correct sizes and deco packs.
• Lead and guide part-time employees and review their work.
• Coordinate with Bakery Manager on displays, ads, and special requests.
• Deliver and set up wedding cakes on-site as needed.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and organization in the decorating area.
