Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60 college credit hours, or ability to pass the parapro test.
• Ability to tutor reading, English and math.
• Willingness to work after-school hours in middle/high schools.

Responsibilities

• Process student tutorial requests to determine appropriate groupings.
• Work independently with student groups under the direction of the classroom teacher to facilitate Socratic-style sessions.
• Help students present, question, and reason through topics to reach understanding.
• Provide positive reinforcement to acknowledge academic growth.
• Assess student work and maintain records for the AVID program.
• Collaborate with teachers to evaluate tutoring effectiveness.
