Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a part-time AVID tutor for Mountain View High School to facilitate high-level Socratic style group tutorials and independent work with student groups under teacher direction.

Responsibilities include processing tutorial requests, guiding students through questions, and maintaining accurate records for the AVID program. Prior tutoring in math/reading/English is desirable; AA degree or college credits required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60 college credit hours; ability to pass the district parapro test.
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from college/university.
• Strong math, reading, and English tutoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process student tutorial requests to determine groupings.
• Lead high-level Socratic style group tutoring sessions.
• Guide students through questions to resolve topics of confusion.
• Maintain organized records to support the AVID program.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to evaluate tutoring effectiveness.
• Attend district-sponsored training as assigned.
• Regular and on-time attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
