Qualifications

• Applicant should be enrolled in or a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate program in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of avian ecology and birds of Pennsylvania.
• Ability to identify common Pennsylvania bird species.

Responsibilities

• Assist in on-site and off-site nestbox monitoring to track nesting activity and fledging success.
• Develop knowledge of the natural history of kestrels and barn owls through outreach and demonstrations.
• Participate in the Pennsylvania Breeding Bird Atlas and other avian research initiatives led by Penn State faculty.
• Support outreach and interpretation at Penn State’s Avian Education programs and events.
