Job summary

Penn State University’s Wildlife Program seeks an entry-level Wildlife Program Assistant to support daily tasks in the Klingsberg Aviary and Litzinger Herpetarium at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center. You will assist with diet preparation, husbandry, enrichment, water tests, and record keeping, under supervision.

This is an emerging professional position with on-the-job training and opportunities to develop higher level responsibilities as you gain comfort and competence with staff guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support and ensure completion of daily tasks within the Aviary and Herpetarium
• Support students in completion of daily tasks of Wildlife Career Development Program
• Develop new skills in wildlife care and conservation under support of full-time staff
