Job summary

Kilgore College seeks a part-time adjunct instructor in Automotive Technology to teach in the program and assist in curriculum development and student assessment.

The role requires ASE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), 5 years of automotive repair experience, and an associate degree in Automotive Technology. Evening and hybrid/distance teaching may be required, with online course certification mandatory.

Qualifications

• ASE Certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive repair industry.
• Associate's degree in Automotive Technology.
• Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred, with demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and engage diverse learners.
• Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students and evaluate learning progress.
• Collaborate to develop and update curriculum materials and assessments to meet industry standards.
• Design hands-on training activities in labs to reinforce theory and develop practical skills.
• Interpret college policies for students positively.
• Maintain syllabi and professional conduct.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements in Automotive Technology.
