Job summary

Rancho Santiago Community College District seeks part-time, temporary instructors for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The pool will be used to fill temporary teaching assignments as needed, with interviews arranged by the division dean or department chair.

Qualifications

• Master’s in physics, astronomy or astrophysics or equivalent with related teaching credentials.
• Bachelor’s in physics or astronomy and a Master’s in engineering, mathematics, meteorology or geophysics, or approved equivalencies.
• Valid California Community College credential or equivalency process as per RSCCD.

Responsibilities

• Teach all assigned classes, including potential evening or off-campus assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, and progress.
• Participate in department activities and teach a variety of courses within the discipline.

Education

Master’s in physics, astronomy or astrophysics

Bachelor’s in physics or astronomy AND Master’s in engineering, mathematics, meteorology or geophysics
