St. Clair County Community College is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to design and deliver instruction for the Astronomy program.

Teaching assignments may include a full range of undergraduate courses, with responsibilities such as developing syllabi, maintaining records, advising students, and contributing to course improvements. Positions are on a semester basis, with morning, afternoon, evening and online offerings possible.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Astronomy, Physics, or related physical science, or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Astronomy, Physics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver academic instruction, including developing syllabi, content and assessments.
• Maintain and submit class records and attendance verification for financial aid compliance.
• Participate in student grade appeals and assessment reporting according to plan.
• Observe college calendar and post/maintain conference hours.
