Job summary

Middletown Christian Schools' Early Learning Center is seeking an Assistant Teacher for Preschool classes. Work with young children in the afternoon, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This part-time year-round position starts at $15.00 per hour and reports to the ELC Director.

Candidates must pass a background check and health screening, hold a High School Diploma, and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid within 90 days. Childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred - childcare experience.
• Must clear full background check and health screening.
• Must be trained within 90 days of hire in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid. Training provided by ELC.
• Ability to work well with others (staff, child, parents) and foster a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing the program.
• Maintain communication with parents.
• Adhere to Ohio licensing rules and ELC policies.
• Maintain 10 clock hours in specialized training. Training provided by ELC.
• Be willing to work with any age in the ELC (6 weeks to 5 years).

Middletown Christian Early Learning Center is in search of an assistant teacher for Preschool classes. Must enjoy working with young children.

Hours include:Monday through Friday 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Job Duties:

On the Job Training

• Assist the teacher with implementing the program.
• Maintain communication with parents.
• Adhere to State of Ohio licensing rules as well as ELC policies.
• Maintain personal professional development which includes 10 clock hours in specialized training. All training will be provided by ELC.
• Must be willing to work with any age in the ELC (6 weeks to 5 years) when needed.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

• Preferred - Childcare experience.
• Must clear full background check and pass health screening.
• Must be trained within 90 days of hire in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid. All training provided by ELC.
• Ability to work well with others (staff, child, parents) and to foster a team environment.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma is a must.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) training is encouraged at some point. Training is provided.

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to lift 35 lbs.
• Potential Part time benefits if working 20 hours/week or more and MAY include PTO and discount at ELC on child care tuition.

*Positions will be hired based on numbers for a team.

Successful background checks shall be valid for three (3) years. Volunteers are under the same code of conduct as other employees.
