Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New Baltimore, Michigan to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will supervise cash handling, merchandising, scheduling, and training of Store Associates while ensuring a friendly, safe environment for customers and staff.

The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts).
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
