Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, service customers, and develop the team at our Junction, TX location. You will help with opening/closing, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention, while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with opportunities to train and develop Store Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain store areas, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including store cash.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
