Family Dollar in Lufkin, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and help the Store Manager drive store success.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior store management experience in retail or grocery. Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and communicate effectively in a high-energy team setting. Part-time role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Apply corporate directives and maintain store compliance and records.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
