Job summary

Family Dollar in Leakey, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help organize merchandise, and ensure seasonal areas are well maintained.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You’ll work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and may help with payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties including walking, standing, and climbing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company policies.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Other duties as assigned.
