Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, support the Store Manager, and ensure friendly, efficient service for customers.

Responsibilities include merchandise organization, opening and closing procedures, directing staff, and maintaining store standards. Strong communication and a proactive, team‑oriented approach are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain store areas, ensuring a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise/train Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
