Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure accurate records and loss prevention.

You will also train and mentor Store Associates while maintaining a safe, welcoming store atmosphere. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and store-management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas clean, well-stocked, and organized according to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
