Family Dollar in Houston is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will support opening/closing, merchandising, inventory, and payroll tasks while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail setting. Part-time schedule with opportunities for growth and development are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and reading/interpretation of directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas and secure assets.
