Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Saint Petersburg, FL to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with merchandise transfers, displays, opening/closing, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a safe, friendly, and efficient store environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure all associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
