Job summary

Big Lots is seeking a motivated Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to deliver excellent customer service and support the Store Manager in daily operations.

Responsibilities include hiring and developing team members, opening/closing the store, safeguarding assets, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom to meet company standards. Flexible, part-time schedule required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the hiring, training and development of store team members as delegated by the Store Manager.
• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Open and close procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards including recovery.
• Direct hourly Team Members when the Store Manager is not on the premises.
• Process all SSC Corporate directives.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Assist in management of freight flow.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Assist in ordering and stocking all merchandise needs.
• Assist in maintaining stockroom organization.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales effective daily.
• Plan and implement directives in the Store Operations Weekly Bulletin.

Summary As a Big Lots Assistant Manager/Key Carrier you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers and supporting the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• When the Store Manager is not on the premises, direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Team Members.

• Assist the Store Manager on the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Assist Store Manager in the management of freight flow.

• Assist the Store Manager in ordering and stocking all merchandise needs.

Qualifications
