Job summary

Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs seeks an assistant coach to help student athletes reach high skill levels while instilling discipline and sportsmanship. You will assist during pre-season and post-season training and coach individuals to develop sport-specific fundamentals, while ensuring safe practice and competition areas and enforcing respectful conduct.

Candidates should have CHSAA coaching credentials or be a licensed staff member, be CPR/First Aid certified, and able to work

Qualifications

• Licensed staff member; HSD2 ESP; or CHSAA Certified Coach.
• Ability to meet CHSAA guidelines and Harrison School District Two coaching requirements.
• Knowledge of and ability to teach skills and fundamentals of specific sport to a varied ability group.
• Ability to work in a diverse population.
• Prior coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.
• Must believe in building positive relationships.
• Meet any state, district or school requirements.
• Must be available to work with players pre-season & post season, as well as summer.
• Must be First Aide/CPR Certified or be able to pass certification test.
• Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist participant athletes during pre-season and post-season training.
• Coach individual participants in sport-specific skills.
• Oversee safety conditions of practice and competition areas.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike conduct at all times.
• Establish and oversee consequences for breaches of standards.
