Job summary

Penn State University in Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Residence Hall Coordinator to supervise a residence hall community and promote a diversified residential program through a curricular approach.

The role involves assisting RAs with programming, daily operations, community development, staff training and evaluation, and student counseling and conflict mediation. An on-campus apartment is provided for on-call coverage, with 20 hours weekly and potential for up to 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in student affairs or housing is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Responsible to the Assistant Director or Area Coordinator for the supervision and administration of a residence hall community and promoting a diversified residential program through a curricular approach.

Duties include:

• Assisting resident assistants with the development, tracking, promotion, and implementation of programming
• administration of daily operations
• community development
• maintaining an effective working relationship with campus partners
• staff selection, training, supervision, and evaluation
• student contact in the areas of counseling, conflict mediation and resolution, crisis management, and discipline

Provides on-call duty coverage on a rotating basis.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree. This is position has potential for both live-on and live-off staff. An on campus apartment will be provided while providing on call coverage. This is a part-time job, at 20 hours per week with potential for up to 40 hours on occasion. Start date is as soon as possible.
