Job summary

Penn State University Park is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Residence Life Coordinator to supervise and administer a residence hall community and promote a diversified program through a curricular approach. You will assist RAs with programming, handle daily operations, foster community development, and collaborate with campus partners.

Live-on or live-off housing is possible; on-campus apartment provided during on-call duties, with a 20-hour per week schedule that may extend to 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in counseling or mediation is a plus.
• Experience supervising staff is preferred.

Duties include:* Assisting resident assistants with the development, tracking, promotion, and implementation of programming; administration of daily operations;* community development;* maintaining an effective working relationship with campus partners;* staff selection, training, supervision, and evaluation;* student contact in the areas of counseling, conflict mediation and resolution, crisis management, and discipline.* Provides on-call duty coverage on a rotating basis Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree. This is position has potential for both live-on and live-off staff. An on campus apartment will be provided while providing on call coverage. This is a part-time job, at 20 hours per week with potential for up to 40 hours on occasion. Start date is as soon as possible.
