Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is seeking an Assistant Manager (Part-time) at our Valencia, CA location. The role offers leadership responsibilities with a focus on customer service and store operations.

You will support the Store Manager, train staff, and help drive sales while upholding company policies and standards. A defined training program will help you grow within our management structure.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Exam.
• Flexible scheduling and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales.
• Merchandising and compliance of all company policies.
• Setting promotional signage.
• Checking and retrieving merchandise from stockroom as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor.
• Opening and closing of the store.
• Training newly hired associates.
• Directing sales and cashier associates throughout the store.
• Inventory control and enforcement of loss prevention policies.
• Enforcement of all company policies.
• Performs or may perform additional duties as assigned by management and supervision.
