Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, helping fans find their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily store operations and sales goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages repeat visits, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support the team as needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting when the Manager is unavailable.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote additional sales through benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate any shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, store layout, and merchandising.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Help maintain organized stockrooms and a tidy store environment.
• Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay range: $17 - $19.55 per hour. Final salary depends on education, location, experience, and other factors.
