Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to assist in training new recruits and support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty. Use your product knowledge, customer service skills, and enthusiasm for fandoms.
• Step in and support when needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting leadership during busy times.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
• Operate the register, process sales, and utilize your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales and benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
• Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving these targets.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Share insights on fashion and music trends with management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Help maintain organized stock rooms and keep the store tidy.
• Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any other duties assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products with store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay range: $17 - $19.55 per hour. Final salary depends on education, location, experience, and other factors.
