Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a significant part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to assist in training new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages repeat visits, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support store operations when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
• Open and close the store as required, demonstrating responsibility and trustworthiness.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote additional sales through benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Ensure proper register closing and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and misuse of spells and wizardry.
• Help maintain the store’s organization and cleanliness, including stockroom management.
• Contribute to developing a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any additional activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to develop your team.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay range: $17 - $19.55 per hour. Final salary will depend on education, location, experience, and other factors.
