Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can access the merchandise they love. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customers to return. Your product knowledge, customer service skills, and enthusiasm will make a difference.
• Step in and support the team as needed, covering sales floor duties and assisting management when required.
• Take responsibility for opening and closing the store as scheduled.
• Operate the register, process sales, and promote additional benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup, using your fandom knowledge to enhance sales.
• Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, fixtures, and merchandising strategies.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Maintain organized stockroom and keep the store tidy.
• Support team development to foster a passionate and collaborative work environment.
• Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, preferably with a passion for music and pop culture.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to mentor others.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
