Job description

We're looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager - Level 1, you'll be a huge part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring that fellow fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You'll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits and ensure their success, and also support the management team in daily operations and meeting sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customers to return. Use your product knowledge and customer service skills to impress and assist fans.
• Assist in daily store operations, stepping in to support the team when needed, including covering the sales floor and providing leadership support.
• Handle opening and closing procedures responsibly, including unlocking and securing the store as required.
• Operate the register, process sales transactions, and utilize your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales through benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, manage register closeouts and communicate shortages or overages to your Store Manager.
• Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving sales targets.
• Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners, keeping the team updated on current trends.
• Work with Store Management to ensure security measures are followed, preventing theft and misuse of store resources.
• Support maintaining an organized stockroom and a tidy store environment.
• Contribute to building a collaborative and passionate team to run the store effectively.
• Perform any additional activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail store experience. A love for music and pop culture is a plus!
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational skills, and a drive to develop your team members.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• The ability to navigate the store comfortably, merchandise products using store equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds when unpacking and packing merchandise.
