Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll support the store leadership team in providing excellent customer service, helping fans access the merchandise they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to train new recruits and support daily operations and sales targets.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and support when needed, covering sales floor duties and leadership support.
• Open and close the store as required, handling key responsibilities.
• Operate the register, process transactions, and leverage fandom knowledge to promote sales and additional benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Also, manage register closures and communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram changes, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
• Communicate fashion and music trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Help maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
• Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
• Perform other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least 1 year of retail experience, with a love for music and pop culture!
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and team development.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
