Overview

Part-Time Assistant Manager - Level 1 role at Hot Topic. We’re looking for music and pop culture fans to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll support the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensure fans can get the merch they love, train new recruits, and support daily operations to meet sales targets.

What You'll Do

• Provide an amazing shopping experience that encourages customers to return, leveraging product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Step in and step up when needed by covering the sales floor and providing leadership support when your Manager is unavailable.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Operate the register, process sales transactions, drive add-on sales with benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup, and report shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs (e.g., UPT and ADT).
• Assist with planogram changes including store layout, walls, fixtures, and merchandising mix.
• Share fashion and music trend information with management and HQ partners.
• Maintain store security and prevent theft, working with Store Management to address any issues.
• Keep the stock room organized and the store tidy, supporting the overall maintenance of the store.
• Develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store together.
• Perform other activities as assigned by your Store Leader.

What You'll Need

• At least 1 year of retail store experience. If you love music and pop culture, you’re in the right place.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and a drive to develop your teammates.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• The usual retail capabilities: navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds.
