Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine at WellSpan Health seeks a part-time Assistant Dean to oversee student support and wellbeing for medical students at the WellSpan Campus in York, PA. Under supervision of the Associate Dean, you will lead academic coaching, USMLE prep, and confidential records management, ensuring LCME accreditation standards are met while aligning

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• 5 years of experience in a medical school, health sciences school, or GME setting required.
• Prior experience in a medical school campus or program related to teaching, evaluation, interviewing and admission required.
• Board certification in the appropriate medical specialty and faculty appointment within 120 days required.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary administrative leadership for student medical and behavioral/mental health coordination, student career advising, academic coaching and remediation processes, the residency interview/Match process, student organizations, student well-being, and other aspects of student support.
• Oversee structured academic coaching and support for students, including evaluations, interventions, remediation, USMLE prep and support, aligning with LKSOM processes and leadership duties.
• Ensure confidential access to personal counseling and medical/mental health care, and confidentiality of student records in accordance with LCME and regulations.
• Coordinate activities between Admissions, Financial Aid, and Operations to ensure financial and other support is available for students to thrive.
• Serve as the primary campus liaison to the Associate Dean and other LKSOM offices across campuses, using student data to inform improvements.
