Job summary

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in ASL / English Interpreting. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.

This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Interpreting or related field.
• RID Certification or ASLTA Certification.
• Current membership in the Conference of Interpreter Trainers (CIT).
• Three (3) years of experience teaching interpreting or American Sign Language in credit college courses.
• Native or near native ASL proficiency to be assessed through a proficiency interview.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses listed for ITP program as needed.
• Develop and coordinate curriculum for ASL/Interpreting courses.
• Engage with Deaf community, advisory board, and employers to support program.
• Support inclusion, equity, and department operations.
