Job description

Part‑time Faculty – American Sign Language Department

Employment is limited to residents of Oregon and Washington. PCC is accepting applications to be considered for part‑time faculty assignments in the American Sign Language Department. The Department will review applications as new teaching needs arise and may consider applicants for substitute and full‑term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited institution
• Possess, or be willing to obtain, certification within one year of hire date from the American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) – Certified Level
• Demonstrate native or near‑native fluency in American Sign Language

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above from an accredited institution in American Sign Language or a related field
• Possess certification from the American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) – Certified Level
• Three years of experience teaching American Sign Language

As a new part‑time faculty employee, you may be eligible for certain benefits through PCC, such as Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans. Hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab) and begin at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
