Job summary

Fresno City College seeks an American Sign Language (ASL) instructor to join a part-time faculty pool. The instructor will teach ASL courses, use diverse delivery methods, and maintain timely grading and records. The position supports equity-minded teaching and engaging with a diverse student body at Fresno City College.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience.
• Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
• A valid California Community College Credential; or
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of American Sign Language (ASL) courses as assigned.
• Use diverse pedagogies and delivery systems including technology for face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Apply teaching methods appropriate to the subject matter and approved outlines of record.
• Evaluate student progress through tests and assignments in line with course objectives.
• Provide course syllabi to students and maintain classroom records per District policy.
• Submit all required grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Handle teaching assignments in various settings and times as needed.
• Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
