Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in ASL or Education for the Deaf with ASL fluency, or a Bachelor’s with ASL-related credentials; Ph.D. preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in American Sign Language or Education for the Hearing Impaired with ASL fluency.
• Bachelor’s degree in ASL/Sign Language Interpreting or Education of the Deaf with ASL fluency.
• National Certification in Sign Language Interpreting or ASLTA Certification.
• Ph.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery of the discipline, commitment to student success, technology competence, and engaging teaching strategies.
• Employ teaching methods to accommodate varying prep levels and incorporate engaging technology.
• Support diverse learners with responsive pedagogical techniques across programs.
• Examine and adapt instructional practices to better engage and support students.
• Engage in student consultation, course preparation, and syllabus development.
• Provide prompt, constructive support through office hours and timely feedback on assessments.
• Provide prompt feedback to student emails.
• Adhere to deadlines for grading, enrollment verification, and textbook adoption.
• Participate in service to the college and community.
