Job summary

Scottsdale Arts, based in Scottsdale, AZ, seeks an Arts Educator to support workshops at events like Canal Convergence and the Scottsdale Family ArtsFest and to lead programs and tours at SMoCA. This flexible, on-call, part-time role includes evenings and weekends and emphasizes engagement with diverse communities through artful learning experiences.

You will collaborate with the Learning & Innovation team, assist in program planning and visitor engagement, and contribute to meaningful arts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field; art, education, museum education, museum studies, or theater.
• 6+ months of related experience with learners of all ages and backgrounds; leading, organizing and teaching groups.
• Understanding of curriculum standards.
• Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication including public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Provide programming support for SALI initiatives including events, festivals, overnight retreats and workshops.
• Facilitate learning opportunities related to curriculum and exhibitions at SMoCA and support teaching artists leading workshops.
• Communicate effectively with key staff across departments and security.
• Maintain activities, materials, spaces and program elements; manage supplies and prep/cleanup.
• Track attendance, feedback and evaluations to ensure positive experiences for attendees.
