Job description

Position Information

Job Title: Part Time – Art History Instructor

Location: Lake County Campus – Clear Lake, CA

Basic Functions
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Art courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Art classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Required Duties
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s in art history, history of art and architecture, or visual culture/visual studies
  • or a bachelor’s in art history and a master’s in history
  • or a master’s in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history
  • or equivalent. See Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District, or must obtain an equivalency determination from the District before publication of the recruitment announcement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Art History to community college students.
Physical Demands

Range(Class I - VII) based on degree and teaching experience.

Salary and Benefits

Part‑time positions less than 0.60 FTE are not entitled to District paid fringe benefits.
