The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.

Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

  • As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
  • Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION :

  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for music courses up to 10 hours/week

  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired

REQUIRED DUTIES :

Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master’s in music OR
  • Bachelor’s in music AND
  • Master’s in humanities
  • OR the equivalent.
  • EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT : All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. Desired/Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in teaching music at high school or college level. For sabbatical replacement in 2024-25 academic year, we especially seek candidates with choral and musical directing experiences, and/or experiences in teaching music history, voice or piano.

Range/Step: Range/Step Class I - VII (Based on degree and teaching experience).

PART - TIME (less than .60 FTE): Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
