Job summary

MOCA is seeking a part-time Educator to support the Contemporary Art Start (CAS) program, developing discussion-based tours and learner-centered trainings for teachers across Los Angeles County.

The role emphasizes collaboration, anti-oppressive teaching, and developing curriculum for students, families, and adults, with opportunities to engage in family programs and MOCA events. Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in art education, studio art or art history, or closely-related field.
• Knowledge of anti-oppressive teaching and art education.
• Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement discussion-based tours for 3rd–12th grade students using Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS).
• Lead learner-centered professional development trainings for teachers within CAS.
• Co-develop creative curriculum and projects for students, families, and adults.
• Assist with family programs and MOCA events.
• Promote MOCA Education programs to recruit participants at schools and community sites.
• Work independently and remotely on assigned projects.
• Engage in VTS training and professional-development opportunities.
