Job summary

kidSTREAM Children's Museum in Camarillo, CA, seeks part-time Museum Educators to deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences for children and families on the museum floor and at off-site outreach events.

You will work under the Education Supervisor to create welcoming, inclusive environments that inspire curiosity and joyful learning, while delivering high-quality customer service and supporting volunteers and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating educational programs for children and families in informal learning environments such as museums, schools, camps, or community-based organizations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to maintain focus and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check required.

Responsibilities

• Engage daily visitors and facilitate positive, meaningful learning experiences during normal operating hours
• Facilitate play-based educational programs including drop-in activities, workshops, field trips, parties, camps, events, and outreach
• Adapt program content to meet diverse ages, abilities, and learning styles
• Assist with program setup, materials preparation, and clean-up
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe spaces
• Collaborate with teammates and support volunteers during program delivery
• Provide excellent customer service as a representative of kidSTREAM
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development
