• Armed guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized entry attempts or unusual activity.
• Prepare clear and accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and required logs; maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and follow weapons-handling procedures.
