Job summary

Oak View Group in Baltimore is seeking a Changeover/Operations Staff to perform setup and changeover of the arena for events, and help maintain cleanliness. Overnight hours may be required. Hourly rate is $15.00.

You will participate in conversion for events, set up seating, flooring, displays, and assist with post-event cleaning and grounds maintenance. You will work with promoters and managers, and collaborate with other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy objects unaided.
• Experience with power tools and basic hand tools preferred.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Follow detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
• Setting up and tearing down flooring, hockey glass, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
• Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the arena, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings and equipment for sporting and live events
• Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite building manager.
• Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
• Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
• Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
• Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment
• Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management
• Other duties as assigned.
