Job summary

Stantec is seeking an On-Call Architectural Historian to support projects in Sacramento or Roseville, CA. The role combines independent work with team collaboration across architectural historians, archaeologists, project managers, engineers and environmental staff.

Responsibilities include research, field work, developing historic contexts, assessing NRHP/CRHR eligibility, consultations and report writing. A Bachelor’s is required; an advanced degree is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required; an advanced degree in public history, heritage conservation, architectural history, historic preservation or related field is highly desired.
• At least 1 year experience as an architectural historian/built environment specialist in the CRM industry or related field.

Responsibilities

• Research and field work for architectural history efforts.
• Develop historic context and determine NRHP/CRHR eligibility.
• Prepare reports and environmental sections; experience with DPR record forms helpful.
• Collaborate with architectural historians, archaeologists, project managers, engineers and environmental staff.
