Job summary

William & Mary is recruiting adjunct professors for the Department of Applied Science to teach in Spring 2027, starting with APSC 251 Engineering Design. The position is part-time and non-benefited, with in-person duties and occasional evening or weekend hours as required.

Applicants should have a Master’s or PhD in Engineering or related fields; ABD status is acceptable. Remote teaching is limited and subject to approval, with a focus on hands-on making and classroom instruction.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Engineering Physics, Engineering, Applied Science or related field.
• ABD status acceptable for appointment.
• Previous academic teaching experience preferred.
• In-person presence required; remote teaching is rare.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses as assigned.
• Prepare syllabi and course materials.
• Deliver instruction and assess student learning.
• Hold office hours for students.
• Fulfill other instructional duties as needed.
