Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in New Albany, IN, is seeking an Angel Tree Coordinator to support the Angel Tree Program during the Christmas season. You will help oversee development, implementation, and review of activities to ensure the mission is carried out with compassion and efficiency.

You will interview and assess clients, coordinate with community partners, manage volunteer activities, maintain client files, and provide Spanish interpretation as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead/participate in interviewing, assessment, and approval of clients for Christmas assistance.
• Collaborate with community agencies to meet client needs.
• Maintain client files and input data into TSAMM.
• Assist with Angel Tree operations: identify sponsors, procure supplies, pack bags, track gifts, recruit/train/coordinate volunteers, and organize pickup.
• Provide interpretation for Spanish-speaking clients.

Job Description:

As the Angel Tree Coordinator, you will assist in the oversite of development, implementation, and review of the Angel Tree Program for New Albany Corps ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

• Participate, as the leader and member of the casework team, in the interviewing, assessment, and approval process of clients as they come to The Salvation Army for Christmas assistance.
• Work cooperatively with other community agencies as we work collaboratively to meet the needs of the clients.
• Maintain documentation in client files for input into the TSAMM program.
• Assist with all aspects of the Angel Tree program including but not limited to, identifying sponsors, identifying and obtaining needed supplies, packing angel tree bags, ensuring every Angel has been accounted for, recruiting, training, and directing volunteers, and coordinating pick up of Angel gifts from sponsors.
• Provide interpretation for Spanish speaking clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: Experience with event and volunteer software and implementation of large social service events; working with multiple community agencies and sites preferred

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe from Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:

• Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
• To work in a fast-paced environment ensuring multiple projects and timelines are completed; comfortable working in team environment and able to complete tasks independently
