Texas Children's Hospital West Campus in Houston seeks a part-time Ambulatory Services Representative II for the Outpatient Urology Clinic. You will be the first contact for patients, providers and staff, handling check-in, registration and guiding patients through the visit process.

Qualifications

• Required H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Required 2 years' experience in customer service or 2 years clerical, medical office, or business experience preferably in a Healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Admission- Check-In/Welcome desk, PAR's, Registration, Past Pending.
• Performs patient registration procedures per department process.
• May orient patient to the virtual visit process and assist with tech setup for visits.
• Ensures all necessary patient forms are provided and filled for the clinic visit.
• Communicates with patients, staff and providers about arrivals, delays, and processes.
• Alerts clinic staff and providers of changes or discrepancies in appointment status.
• Refer patients with inadequate funding to the financial counselor.
• Update appointment statuses daily (arrived, cancelled, no-show, rescheduled).
• Maintain organized filing of referrals; notify PCPs of misses; destroy missed referrals after one month.
• Review referrals with the provider of the day; coordinate scheduling.
• Assist licensed staff with non-financial parts of inpatient admission; escorts and paperwork as needed.
• May perform closing procedures (fees, deposits, petty cash, batch reports).
• Insurance authorization; collect cash and deposits.
• Charge entry, billing and reconciliation.
