Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking a guest-focused host to greet guests, manage reservations and seating, and deliver gracious service at our boutique restaurant. You will be the first smile guests see and a storyteller for local experiences.

You should have customer service or hospitality experience, strong communication, ability to multitask, and be flexible to work weekends, nights, and holidays. Training on POS and reservations systems is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu and allergy information to guests.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, a real passion for hospitality, and you love crafting unique and memorable experiences for guests.
• Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
• Flexible schedule and are able to work weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet all restaurant guests and provide information about the area.
• Provide fair and consistent seating of guests.
• Accurately handle paperwork, stock and tidy the host stand.
• Receive calls and book reservations for guests.
• Take room service orders if applicable.
• Check floor and tables for cleanliness and assist in bussing.
• Help servers by refilling beverages.
• Perform other restaurant and customer service related tasks.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
