Job summary

Akiak School in Alaska seeks an Afterschool Student Tutor and/or Rural Counselor for the Yupiit School District. The role supports tutoring and rural career guidance in Akiachak, Akiak, and Tuluksak villages, with a two-hour/day schedule, 124 maximum days, and a pay rate of $40/hr (certified) or $20/hr (classified).

The position is grant-funded, with duties including record-keeping and background checks. Training for rural counseling and AKCIS is required where applicable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide afterschool tutoring and academic assistance for students.
• Maintain accurate records for student participation, including sign-in sheets and staff time/effort sheets.
• Duties for Rural Career Counseling: complete online training (DEED/UAA).
• Complete Alaska Career Information Systems (AKCIS) 360 online training.
